Terms of Service

Effective 23 September 2026 · Last updated 23 September 2026

Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using Tatreez.io (the "Service"), operated by Lina Noor Barkawi, d/b/a Lina's Thobe ("we," "us," or "our").

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. About the Service

Tatreez.io is a browser-based design tool for creating tatreez (Palestinian embroidery) patterns, including access to a motif library, canvas tools, and export features. The Service is currently in a pilot phase. Features, pricing, availability, and functionality may change, and the Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis as described in Section 8.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age required to use online services in your country if higher, to use the Service. If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these requirements.

3. Accounts

  • You must provide a valid email address to create an account. We use passwordless "magic code" sign-in sent to your email. You are responsible for maintaining access to that email account and for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • You agree to provide accurate information and to notify us promptly of any unauthorized use of your account.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Subscriptions and Payment

  • Free tier: includes access to the motif library, DMC catalog, canvas tools, and limited saved designs and exports, as described on our pricing page.
  • Paid tier ("Pro"): offered at the monthly and annual prices listed on our pricing page, unlocking additional export formats, stitch view, collaboration, and other features as described there.
  • Billing: purchases are processed by Creem, which acts as our merchant of record and is the seller of record for your subscription. Creem handles payment, billing, and applicable sales taxes, and your purchase is also subject to Creem's terms. By subscribing, you authorize recurring charges to your chosen payment method until you cancel.
  • Cancellation: you may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you will keep Pro access until then.
  • Refunds: monthly subscriptions are non-refundable for the current billing period once charged. You may cancel at any time to prevent future charges, and you will keep Pro access through the end of the period already paid for. Annual subscriptions are eligible for a full refund if requested within 14 days of purchase. After that window, annual subscriptions are non-refundable, including for unused months. To request a refund or cancel your subscription, contact us at support@tatreez.io.
  • Price changes: we will give advance notice of any pricing changes before they apply to your subscription renewal.

5. User Content and Intellectual Property

5.1 Your Content

"User Content" means any designs, patterns, motif combinations, or other material you create or upload using the Service. You retain ownership of your User Content.

By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, and display your User Content solely as necessary to operate and provide the Service to you, such as saving and rendering your designs. This license ends when your User Content is permanently deleted (after the 30-day trash period) or when your account is deleted, except for residual copies in backups and copies you have shared with collaborators, as described in our Privacy Policy.

We do not claim ownership of your designs, and the Service does not publish your User Content publicly. If you use collaboration features, the designs you share will be visible to, and may be editable by, the collaborators you invite. You are responsible for what you share and with whom. Any future public or community features will require your separate, opt-in consent, and these Terms will be updated before they launch.

5.2 Our Content

The Service itself, including the motif library, software, design, branding, and underlying technology, is owned by Lina's Thobe or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws.

You may use motifs from the library, including motifs sourced from third-party archives such as the Tirazain index, in designs you create with the Service. You may stitch, display, and sell finished embroidery made from your designs, and you may share or sell your own patterns created with the Service. You may not extract, copy, or redistribute the motif library itself, or any substantial part of it, outside the Service.

You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works of the Service (as distinct from your own designs made using it) without our written permission.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law
  • Upload content that infringes the intellectual property or other rights of any third party
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other users' accounts, or our systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service's infrastructure or security
  • Use automated means (scraping, bots) to access the Service without our written permission
  • Misrepresent your identity or impersonate any person or entity
  • Resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute the Service or the motif library without our permission

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for violations of this section.

7. Pilot Disclaimer

You acknowledge that the Service is an early-stage pilot and may contain bugs, errors, or incomplete features, and that features, data structures, and availability may change or be discontinued at any time as we develop the product. We will make reasonable efforts to preserve your saved User Content, but we strongly recommend you export and independently back up any designs important to you, particularly during this pilot phase.

8. Disclaimers of Warranties

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, OR THAT ANY DATA LOSS WILL NOT OCCUR.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LINA'S THOBE AND ITS OWNER, EMPLOYEES, AND CONTRACTORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) $100.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Lina's Thobe and its owner, employees, and contractors from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Service, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms, or at our discretion during the pilot phase with reasonable notice where practicable. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends, though provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive (such as intellectual property, limitation of liability, and indemnification) will continue to apply.

12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Kings County, New York, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under the mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through a notice on the Service before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
